What to Expect

Yes! New London

“All the promises of God are Yes! in Christ Jesus” –
2 Corinthians 1:20
Yes! New London; there’s parking!
There is plenty of off-street parking in the back of our building. The parking lot address is 29 Washington Street. The lot is located behind Washington Street Coffee House and across from Frontier. This is not a handicap accessible entrance and does have a few flights of stairs to reach the sanctuary.
In the front of our building there is on street parking, with a handicap accessible entrance up the ramp and through the big red doors. To the right of the building (if you are looking at the building, from the street), on the south side, the firm of Messier & Massad LLC have been so gracious as to allow us the use of their parking lot on Sundays. There is also access to the handicap ramp from their lot.
Please do not park in any other local lots.

The First Sunday of Each Month:
We celebrate Lord’s Supper Sunday on the first Sunday of each month. During this service we collect diapers and wipes for Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center and money for the Deacon Benevolent Fund. As the Lord leads, and you are able, please bring your donations for these worthy causes.
During Lord’s Supper Sunday there is no Children’s Church. We use this as an opportunity to let families worship together and instruct children about what is expected of them as they grow in age and in the Lord.
There is nursery service for children up to age 5 during Lord’s Supper Sunday.
Child Care and Children’s church:
We have a nursery for children up through age 4 every Sunday; staffing will be provided as needed. Parents are welcome to take advantage of the nursery staff or spend the time in the nursery themselves. We welcome children in our service. As a father of 4 and a grandfather, Pastor Bud is used to having to talk over the sounds of children. While not all of us have been in the shoes of the parent with the cranky baby we can all look to scripture to see Jesus encouraging you to come to Him and bring your children. In Matthew 19: 13-15, parents brought their children to Jesus and the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said “Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.” (HCSB translation)
On the first and third Sunday of each month there will be no Children’s church. Children K-5 will be invited to come to the front of the Sanctuary and join us in singing the Children’s verse. Then they will return to their seats and enjoy the service with their parents. If you would like crayons or Christ-centered coloring pages please ask!
Grades 6-12 are encouraged to worship as adults: take notes, jot down questions to ask and research later, and fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Our children’s program is designed to grow and change with the needs of our congregation. If your family has a need that isn’t being met please contact Trish Harris.
At Huntington Street Baptist Church we value all forms of praise music. Our Organist plays with our Praise Team as we sing contemporary worship music and provides us a beautiful backing to the hymns that the congregation sings throughout the service.
Please! Come as you are! God and the members of Huntington Street Baptist care more that you are looking to know more about your Lord than about what you are wearing. We don’t care if you’re in your work jeans, the latest style, or the fanciest Sunday best, so long as you are hearing the word of the Lord.
